Chemicals, if not stored properly can be really hazardous. If accidentally, two incompatible checmicals are mixed- it can lead to a major problem. Therefore it is very necessary to store the chemicals in a right manner. One of the best ways to store the chemicals is to use a reliable chemical storage cabinet.

The chemical storage cabinet is selected according to the type of chemicals to be stored in the cabinet. There are four types of chemical storage cabinets, namely, flammable chemicals storage cabinets, hazardous waste storage cabinets, acid and corrosive storage cabinets, and cabinets for paint and ink storage.

A flammable chemical storage cabinet is used to store, flammable liquids. These liquids are combustible by nature. These cabinets have galvanized steel shelving and are finished in 2 part urethane. Such cabinets have a reinforced 18-gauge all-welded construction with doors that have a 3-point self latching. These doors do not cause sparks. Therefore there is no danger of the chemicals catching fire by accident.

The flammable chemical storage cabinet also has a warning label that informs about the flammable chemicals stored inside. These cabinets are available with different storage capacities. There are cabinets ranging from 4 gallons to 90 gallons in storage capacity. There are also some smaller cabinets for places with a limited space.

The hazardous waste storage cabinet is used to store the potentially hazardous chemical waste. This cabinet is also called hazard waste drum cabinet. This cabinet has a shelf that can hold 5 gallon containers. The cabinet is 2 inches deep and is entirely leak proof. The cabinet has a roller bottom that facilitates easy loading of heavy drums, full of hazardous chemical waste.

Then there is the corrosive and acid storage cabinet. Such a cabinet usually has leak tight sump. The cabinet's shelves are equipped with removable corrosive-resistant polyethylene trays. These trays are designed to contain and control any accidental spill of the harmful chemicals.

The cabinet also has a warning label that says; CAUTION CORROSIVES.

There also is a special chemical storage cabinet for storing things like paints and ink. Its built is as rigid as the cabinets used for chemical waste. The cabinet comes in a variety of sizes like 20, 40, 60 or 120-gallons. The cabinet is usually painted in a standard yellow paint and safety Yellow urethane paint. Also the cabinet comes with manual, sliding, and self-closing door.
